Rem Offshore’s CSV Begins Work for Equinor Following Rebuild Project

A construction support vessel (CSV) owned by Norway’s shipping player Rem Offshore has begun working for Norwegian state-owned energy giant Equinor following an extensive rebuild and mobilization project.

In pursuit of more sustainable operations, efficiency enhancements, and cost savings, Rem Offshore announced in September last year that Norwegian Electric Systems (NES) was to furnish REM Inspector with a deck-based battery energy storage system (ESS).

The rebuild and mobilisation project was led by DOF Group and the vessel has now begun performing inspection, maintenance and repair (IMR) work for Equinor on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS).

This is said to mark a major milestone in the delivery of DOF’s long-term IMR contract with Equinor, under which DOF provides integrated subsea services including vessel operations, ROV services, project management, and engineering support.

“We are proud to officially mark the on-hire of REM Inspector for Equinor. This contract represents a significant milestone and a key strategic achievement for DOF,” said Dag Raymond Rasch, EVP Atlantic at DOF.

“It also signals the beginning of a long-term partnership with Equinor—one that will rely on close collaboration, both within our team and with our client. I have great confidence in our team’s ability to deliver and to help shape a strong future for our strategic ambitions within IMR.”

The 2013-built, 110-meter-long, and 22-meter-wide REM Inspector has a deck space of 1,000 square meters and is equipped with a 150-ton crane.

The vessel is of the Havyard 857 design and offers accommodation for 106 persons.
