Cadeler Secures Contract for Offshore Wind Project in the United States
Copenhagen-headquartered offshore wind installation player Cadeler has recently inked a firm contract with an undisclosed client for the deployment of one of its newbuild vessels at an offshore wind farm in the United States.
This significant milestone marks the maiden voyage of Cadeler’s second P-Class newbuild vessel, Wind Pace, post its anticipated delivery.
The offshore wind project is slated to kick off in the second quarter of 2025, with the vessel committed under this contract until the first quarter of 2026. Notably, this venture represents Cadeler’s second foray into offshore wind projects in US waters.
With the contract estimated to be valued between €67m and €75m ($69.6m and $77.9m), Cadeler is poised to make a substantial impact in the burgeoning offshore wind sector.
Expanding Portfolio and Strategic Partnerships
February has proven to be a productive month for the Danish firm, with a flurry of activities underscoring its commitment to growth and innovation.
In the early days of the month, Cadeler clinched two contracts with undisclosed clients for its state-of-the-art newbuild M-Class wind installation vessel, Wind Mover. The vessel, currently under construction at Hanwha Ocean Shipyard in Korea, is slated to bolster operations, maintenance activities, and potential installation work in Europe upon its delivery in the fourth quarter of 2025.
Building on this momentum, Cadeler further solidified its presence in the offshore wind market by signing a vessel reservation agreement with Ocean Winds. The agreement entails the installation and transportation of approximately 30 wind turbine generators at the BC-Wind offshore wind farm in the Polish Baltic Sea, utilizing one of Cadeler’s cutting-edge O-Class vessels.
Driving Sustainable Energy Solutions
As the global shift towards renewable energy gains momentum, Cadeler remains at the forefront of delivering efficient and sustainable offshore wind solutions. Through strategic partnerships, innovative vessel designs, and a steadfast commitment to operational excellence, the company continues to carve a niche for itself in the dynamic offshore wind industry.
With a growing portfolio of projects and a strong emphasis on technological advancements, Cadeler is well-positioned to drive the transition towards a cleaner, greener future powered by renewable energy sources.
