Dutch Marine Masters Secures Offshore Installation Project for SunPetro’s Bhasker A & B Platforms
Dutch offshore contractor Marine Masters has recently been awarded a significant project for the installation of the greenfield Bhasker A & B platforms, developed by Indian energy company SunPetro. The project, managed by main installation contractor ACE Pipeline and overseen by Consolidated Support Services PTE LTD (CSS), involves the construction of two wellhead platforms with jackets and topsides.
The scope of work for Marine Masters includes detailed preparation for lifting and mooring activities, the lifting of two 800-tonne jackets and topsides, upending and installation of piles, and the establishment of a dedicated platform for subsea and piling operations. The technical complexity of the project necessitates precise engineering execution.
To facilitate the operations, Marine Masters has chartered the Conquest MB1, a heavy-lift barge with a lifting capacity of approximately 1,400 tonnes. Equipped with two mobile cranes capable of lifting 180 tonnes and 500 tonnes respectively, the vessel ensures the safe and efficient execution of all project phases.
The Conquest MB1 is currently en route to Mumbai and is expected to arrive on March 7, 2025. Upon completing inward clearance and mobilization activities, the barge will proceed to the offshore location in the Gulf of Kutch, 110 nautical miles south of Kandla, with an anticipated arrival on March 20, 2025. The installation work is scheduled to be completed by May 15, 2025.
