OPT Bags WAM-V Order from European Offshore Services Provider

Ocean Power Technologies Secures Contract for Unmanned Surface Vehicle

U.S.-based Ocean Power Technologies has announced that they have secured a contract from a new European Offshore Services Provider for a fully integrated unmanned surface vehicle WAM-V, with delivery expected in the near term.

The contract marks a significant milestone for Ocean Power Technologies as they expand their presence into the European Union market, collaborating with end customers and resellers to provide innovative maritime solutions.

The WAM-V will be swiftly assembled and dispatched to the customer. In-country training and services will also be offered by Ocean Power Technologies to ensure seamless integration and operation of the unmanned surface vehicle.

CEO and President of Ocean Power Technologies, Philipp Stratmann, expressed his enthusiasm for the contract, stating, “Securing this contract is testament to the growing demand for our systems in the market. Our efforts globally, particularly in defense, security, autonomous survey, and offshore construction sectors, are driving interest in our advanced technologies.”

He further added, “We are focused on converting our pipeline to backlog and achieving continued growth. We are excited about upcoming deliveries and the opportunities to deploy our assets to customers in the United States, as well as our partners in Latin America, the Middle East, and now the European Union and other allied nations.”

With a commitment to technological innovation and strategic partnerships, Ocean Power Technologies is poised to further expand its market reach and deliver cutting-edge solutions to meet the evolving needs of the maritime industry.
