CRP Subsea to Provide Distributed Buoyancy Modules for Natural Gas Development

UK-headquartered CRP Subsea, a part of AIS, has secured a significant contract to deliver distributed buoyancy modules (DBMs) for a natural gas development project off the Eastern Mediterranean coast. The DBMs will play a crucial role in supporting dynamic umbilical and mono-ethylene glycol (MEG) risers, connecting to a floating production, storage, and offloading (FPSO) unit operating at depths of approximately 1,800 meters.

CRP Subsea’s innovative DBMs feature a high-capacity compliant internal clamp that provides uniform circumferential pressure around the riser, ensuring their ability to withstand the harsh offshore environment, including wave forces, currents, and FPSO motions.

While specific project details and the client’s identity remain undisclosed, CRP Subsea revealed that the contract was awarded by a prominent engineering, procurement, construction, and installation (EPCI) company. Production of the DBMs will take place in Skelmersdale, with project engineering activities set to commence soon and delivery scheduled for the first quarter of 2026.

In a statement, Matt Burrows, Sales Manager at CRP Subsea, expressed his enthusiasm about the new contract, emphasizing the company’s dedication to delivering tailored, high-quality solutions to its key clients. He highlighted the importance of building strong partnerships and looked forward to further collaboration beyond this project.

Expanding Opportunities for CRP Subsea

CRP Subsea’s recent success extends beyond this contract, with the company securing multiple new deals. One notable assignment involves providing a protection solution for two high-voltage direct current (HVDC) cables and a fiber optic cable (FOC) for an underwater green electricity project connecting the U.S. and Canada. Additionally, CRP Subsea has received an order for DBMs for a deepwater oil field project in the pre-salt Santos Basin offshore Brazil.

These developments underscore CRP Subsea’s expertise in providing innovative solutions for complex offshore projects, solidifying its position as a trusted partner in the energy industry. As the company continues to expand its portfolio and deliver excellence in engineering solutions, its reputation for reliability and quality remains unmatched.
