Greensea IQ’s EverClean Service Approved as Certified Hull Grooming Provider

Greensea IQ, a leading innovator in proactive in-water hull cleaning technology, proudly announces that its EverClean service has received official approval as a certified hull grooming provider for vessels coated with GIT Coatings’ foul release systems. This significant milestone was achieved through the endorsement of Lloyd’s Register, validating EverClean’s capability to groom hulls shielded by GIT Coatings’ sustainable and biocide-free coatings, specifically XGIT-FUEL™.

When it comes to hull maintenance, grooming plays a crucial role in preventing the formation of macrofouling by regularly removing microfouling (slime) from the ship’s hull. This proactive measure is essential for maintaining the optimal performance and efficiency of vessels over time.

The recent certification underscores the mutual dedication of Greensea IQ and GIT Coatings to providing environmentally responsible solutions for hull maintenance to commercial vessel operators globally. The Enhanced Type Approval ensures that XGIT-Fuel retains its effectiveness both before and after grooming with EverClean, without any increase in roughness or loss of thickness.

Both companies proudly announced this approval at the prestigious CMA Shipping event on April 2, 2025, held in Stamford, Connecticut. This recognition highlights the industry’s shift towards sustainable practices and the increasing demand for eco-friendly solutions in maritime operations.

By combining Greensea IQ’s cutting-edge technology with GIT Coatings’ advanced foul release systems, shipowners can now benefit from a comprehensive and environmentally conscious approach to hull maintenance. The approval of EverClean as a certified hull grooming provider marks a significant step forward in the pursuit of sustainable and efficient marine operations.
