ZTT Submarine Cable & System Wins EPC Contract for Yangjiang Fanshi II Offshore Wind Project

ZTT Submarine Cable & System (ZTTSC) has secured an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract for the Yangjiang Fanshi II offshore wind project in China. The project involves the installation of a cutting-edge 500 kV three-core AC submarine cable system spanning 92 kilometers to transmit 1,000 MW of renewable power from the offshore wind farm to onshore grids.

This undertaking by ZTTSC is touted as one of the most advanced and large-scale offshore wind cable installations in the industry, underscoring the company’s expertise and technological prowess in the renewable energy sector.

The Yangjiang Fanshi II offshore wind farm, a 1 GW project, is being developed and owned by China’s CGN Wind Energy Limited. Situated in the South China Sea off the coast of Guangdong, China, the project is slated to commence construction in 2025, with commercial operations expected to begin in 2029.

China continues to lead the global offshore wind market, with over 41 GW of operational capacity connected to its grid, as per a recent report by RenewableUK. The UK follows closely behind in second place with 14.7 GW, maintaining its position for the fourth consecutive year, while Germany ranks third with 8.5 GW of operational capacity.

With the Yangjiang Fanshi II project set to bolster China’s renewable energy portfolio and contribute significantly to its offshore wind capacity, ZTTSC’s role in the development of this landmark initiative underscores its commitment to driving sustainable energy solutions and advancing the global transition towards clean power generation.
