Fincantieri and Accenture Launch Joint Venture Fincantieri Ingenium

Fincantieri and Accenture have joined forces to establish Fincantieri Ingenium, a new joint venture aimed at driving digital transformation in the cruise, defense, and port infrastructure sectors. The partnership, with Fincantieri NexTech owning 70% and Accenture owning 30%, combines Fincantieri’s naval expertise with Accenture’s digital capabilities.

Accelerating Digital Innovation

The collaboration between Fincantieri and Accenture, initiated through a memorandum of understanding signed in July 2024, seeks to leverage advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence to optimize operations and enhance services across the value chain.

Fincantieri Ingenium will focus on developing digital solutions that improve operational efficiency, lifecycle management, and cybersecurity in the naval and defense industries. One of their flagship projects, Navis Sapiens, aims to revolutionize next-generation ships and upgrade existing fleets through a comprehensive digital ecosystem.

Navis Sapiens: Transforming Maritime Operations

Navis Sapiens will introduce a suite of application services to streamline operations, a digital platform with AI-driven functionalities, and a marketplace for sharing solutions. The first ship equipped with Navis Sapiens is expected to debut by the end of 2025, setting a new standard for digital innovation in the maritime industry.

Furthermore, Fincantieri Ingenium plans to enhance connectivity between ships and onshore ecosystems, including ports and shipyards, to optimize cross-functional processes and promote real-time data exchange. This initiative aims to boost the competitiveness of Italian ports by improving overall performance and efficiency.

Driving Growth and Efficiency

By combining Fincantieri’s industry knowledge with Accenture’s digital expertise, Fincantieri Ingenium is poised to drive growth and efficiency in the maritime sector. The joint venture’s strategic initiatives underscore a commitment to innovation and collaboration in shaping the future of digital transformation in the cruise, defense, and port infrastructure industries.
