Petrobras Extends Contract for Noble Discoverer Rig

Brazilian state-owned giant Petrobras has exercised an option to extend the contract for one of Noble Corporation’s semisub drilling rigs.

The Noble Discoverer rig, built in 2009, has been operating for Petrobras in Colombia since June 2024. The initial contract was set to end in July 2025.

However, Petrobras’ Colombian arm has decided to extend the semisub’s contract for an additional 390 days, pushing the end date to approximately August 14, 2026.

There is also an unpriced option for an additional 400 days available. If exercised, this would keep the rig operational until the third quarter of 2027.
