Brava Energia Expands Production at FPSO Atlanta with Two New Wells

Brazilian energy player Brava Energia, formerly known as 3R Petroleum before merging with Enauta, has recently brought two additional wells online by connecting them to an existing floating production, storage, and offloading (FPSO) vessel operating at an oil field off the coast of Brazil.

Months after the FPSO Atlanta’s initial oil production through the Atlanta Definitive Production System, Brava Energia has commenced production from wells 4H and 5H. These wells are currently undergoing testing and stabilization.

Both wells were previously on stream through the early production system when the FPSO Petrojarl I was deployed at the Atlanta field in block BS-4 within the Santos Basin.

With the connection of wells 4H and 5H, the FPSO Atlanta will now be producing from four wells, including 4H, 5H, 6H, and 7H. Brava Energia plans to continue the campaign to connect the remaining two wells, 2H and 3H, by June 2025.

The FPSO Atlanta, chartered and operated by Malaysia’s Yinson Production, has the capacity to produce up to 50,000 barrels of oil per day, treat 140,000 barrels of water per day, and store up to 1.6 million barrels of oil. It is expected to remain in operation at the Brazilian field for 15 years.

Brava Energia, which recently secured a deal with Trafigura for the oil produced from the Atlanta field, has the option to extend the FPSO’s stay for an additional five years.
