OLT Offshore LNG Toscana to Hold Auctions for Regasification Capacity

Italy’s floating regasification terminal operator OLT Offshore LNG Toscana, controlled by Snam and Igneo Infrastructure Partners, has announced plans to conduct auctions for regasification capacity at its floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) located off the coast of Livorno.

The company revealed that auctions for continuous capacity products for multi-year allocation of slots at its FSRU Toscana for gas years 2027/2028 to 2043/2044 will commence on May 21, 2025.

The regasification capacity will be offered in 165,000 liquid cubic meter slots, divided into three products. The first product covers the gas years from 2027/2028 to 2041/2042, the second product spans from 2027/2028 to 2036/2037, and the third product runs from 2027/2028 to 2030/2031.

OLT Offshore also mentioned that customers can request an extension of their allocation for subsequent gas years at the same price and slot quantity if capacity remains available.

Last month, the FSRU Toscana received a 20-year extension for its operation, with its annual regasification capacity of 5 billion standard cubic meters fully booked until 2026/2027.

Located approximately 22 kilometers off the coast between Livorno and Pisa, FSRU Toscana is connected to the national grid via a 36.5-kilometer pipeline managed by Snam. The pipeline consists of a 29.5-kilometer sea section, 5 kilometers in the floodway, and 2 kilometers on land.
