Atlas Professionals Awarded Crew Management Contract for Noble Corporation’s Suriname Drilling Campaign

U.S. offshore drilling contractor Noble Corporation has awarded Atlas Professionals with a crew management contract for its upcoming drilling campaign in Suriname.

Atlas will be providing junior and expatriate crew for the drilling campaign that will utilize the Noble Developer rig. The contract also includes logistics, training, and immigration support managed through Atlas’s office in Paramaribo, Suriname.

This contract signifies a milestone in the long-standing relationship between Atlas and Noble, highlighting Atlas’s commitment to offering tailored workforce solutions in challenging and emerging markets.

“It’s great to be able to support Noble Corporation with this project in Suriname,” said Lourdes Landa, Global Network Development Director at Atlas. “Our experience working with Noble in emerging markets like Suriname allows us to provide the exact support they need. With our global network and local presence in the region, we can deliver a solution that combines local expertise with international standards.”

Atlas will not only mobilize local Surinamese crew but also invest in developing local talent through its Greenhand Offshore Program, offering structured onboarding and career pathways for newcomers in the offshore industry.

Noble Developer Rig

The Noble Developer is a DSS-21 column-stabilized, dynamically positioned semi-submersible rig with a maximum drilling depth of 40,000 feet (approximately 12,192 meters). It can operate in water depths of up to 10,000 feet (around 3,048 meters).

Upcoming Drilling Assignments

In December 2024, Petronas Suriname E&P secured the rig for a drilling campaign involving three wells offshore Suriname, set to commence in June 2025 and last approximately 200 days.
