Metstrade Predicts Significant Expansion in Superyacht Sector by 2025

Metstrade has announced that its superyacht sector is set for significant expansion in 2025. The superyacht zone in Hall 8 is being expanded to accommodate the growing demand, as it has previously reached its capacity limits. Companies such as DAMEN, Lürssen Yachts, MB92, Pendennis Shipyard, and the Australia Refit cluster are expected to showcase their refit capabilities. Metstrade estimates that there is a fleet of approximately 6,000 active vessels requiring regular major works.

In addition to the increased capacity, there will also be a dedicated superyacht stage, showcasing technologies and applications that are shaping the future of superyacht design, innovation, and operations. The Superyacht Forum, which is now part of the Metstrade portfolio, will also continue.

Furthermore, a new USA stage will be created in partnership with NMMA, IBEX, and Soundings Trade Only to provide perspective on the challenges and opportunities facing transatlantic stakeholders.

The 37th edition of the show will occupy the entire RAI Amsterdam complex, indicating the significant growth of the event. With 31,824 visits from 19,779 unique visitors in 2024, this year’s event is already shaping up to be a success.

“This year’s expansion is not only about scale—it’s about responding to the complex needs of the global marine industry,” says Niels Klarenbeek, director maritime at RAI Amsterdam. “Ongoing dialogue with Metstrade’s global community shapes our show in its vital role of supporting clear communication, meaningful engagement, and innovation at every level.”

Exhibitor registration for this year is already significantly ahead of schedule, indicating strong industry interest and participation.

Construction materials and coatings are expected to take on a greater prominence with a new zone in Hall 11. Key exhibitors in this space, such as AkzoNobel, will showcase their latest innovations. Additionally, a new partnership with JEC, the organizer of the leading composites event in France, will bring a sharper focus on sustainable materials and innovation in composite technology.

The Boat Builder Awards will relocate to Harbour 8 to make the ceremony more accessible to attendees.

“The changes we are introducing this year focus on further strengthening Metstrade’s unrivaled position as a relevant and reliable business platform for the leisure marine sector,” says Patricia Becker, exhibition manager at Metstrade. “Our new identity will bring clarity across all channels, with the broader content and layout delivering tangible value for all involved.”

Metstrade is scheduled to run from 18-20 November, with the Superyacht Forum taking place on 17-18 November 2025. The Boat Builder Awards will be held on 19 November 2025.
