Active Summer Season in North Europe for TGS

Norwegian seismic firm TGS has kicked off an active summer season in North Europe with the mobilization of several of its acquisition vessels. This move marks a significant increase in the company’s capacity compared to the previous year.

TGS has deployed a total of four acquisition vessels in the region, including three seismic vessels and one offshore wind vessel. All three seismic streamer vessels have been successfully mobilized according to plan and are currently engaged in production on 4D seismic contracts.

Throughout the summer, these vessels will continue with additional 4D programs. TGS has secured a total of seven 4D contracts in Northern Europe, totaling approximately 280 acquisition days. Towards the end of the season, TGS will also acquire multi-client data.

In addition to the ongoing 4D acquisition projects, the Ramform Vanguard vessel has mobilized for an offshore wind site characterization contract offshore the UK. The project is progressing as scheduled, and upon completion, the vessel will embark on another offshore wind site characterization contract in the same region.

Furthermore, TGS’ node-on-a-rope crew successfully completed a contract in Northern Europe in May. The crew had mobilized for the project in early April, as planned.

Carel Hooijkaas, EVP Operations at TGS, expressed excitement about the high level of acquisition activity in Northern Europe this summer. He highlighted the company’s commitment to supporting energy companies and meeting the industry’s evolving needs. With advanced technologies like the Ramform acquisition platform, GeoStreamer technology, and Ultra High-Resolution 3D technology for offshore wind site characterization, TGS aims to deliver high-quality geoscience data to its clients.
