Fugro’s Group Director for Europe and Africa Steps Down
Fugro’s Group Director for Europe and Africa, Erik-Jan Bijvank, has made the decision to resign from his position in order to pursue new opportunities outside of the company. This announcement comes as a surprise to many, as Erik-Jan has been a key figure in the company’s recent transformation into a more resilient and successful business.
The recruitment process for Erik-Jan’s replacement has already begun, and a successor is expected to be named in the near future. In the meantime, Fugro’s CEO, Mark Heine, will assume responsibility for the Europe and Africa region, with the support of the regional leadership team.
In a statement, Mark Heine expressed his gratitude for Erik-Jan’s contributions to Fugro over the past five years, stating, “Erik-Jan has been a valuable member of the Executive Leadership Team, and his hard work and dedication have been instrumental in the company’s growth and success. We wish him all the best in his future endeavors.”
Under Erik-Jan’s leadership, Fugro has made significant strides in Europe and Africa, solidifying its position as a leading provider of geotechnical and survey services in the region. His departure marks the end of an era for the company, but also presents an opportunity for new leadership to continue driving Fugro’s growth and innovation.
As Fugro prepares to welcome a new Group Director for Europe and Africa, the company remains committed to delivering high-quality services to its clients and maintaining its position as a global leader in the maritime industry.
