Singapore’s Strategic Marine Delivers Second Hybrid Propulsion Fast Crew Boat to Centus Marine

Singapore’s shipbuilder Strategic Marine has recently handed over the second fast crew boat (FCB) equipped with hybrid propulsion to Malaysia’s offshore vessel operator Centus Marine. The vessel, named Centus Alesha, showcases Strategic Marine’s innovative hybrid propulsion system, designed to reduce fuel consumption and emissions. This collaboration between the two companies aims to promote sustainable offshore operations while ensuring top-notch performance, reliability, and safety.

This delivery marks another milestone in the partnership between Strategic Marine and Centus Marine, following the successful handover of Malaysia’s first hybrid FCB in September 2024. The continuous efforts to develop cleaner and more efficient offshore vessel technologies reflect the shared commitment of both companies towards driving sustainable innovation in the maritime industry.

Chan Eng Yew, CEO of Strategic Marine, expressed his pride in delivering the Centus Alesha and emphasized the significance of their collaboration with Centus Marine in advancing sustainable solutions for offshore transport. The vessel represents a significant contribution to the ongoing decarbonization efforts in the region.

Centus Marine’s Derick Soo also shared his enthusiasm for expanding their hybrid fleet with the addition of Centus Alesha, highlighting the vessel’s role in setting new standards for operational and environmental excellence in the offshore sector. This commitment to green maritime innovation underscores the companies’ dedication to providing future-ready solutions for the industry.

Furthermore, the partnership between Strategic Marine and Centus Marine extends to a new project involving the development of a high-speed personnel transfer vessel in collaboration with France’s AIRCAT Vessels. The vessel, based on the AIRCAT 35 Crewliner platform, aims to further enhance efficiency and sustainability in offshore operations.
