Tidewater scores PSV work with Spirit Energy

Tidewater Secures Charter Deal for Troms Lyra Vessel

Offshore support vessel owner Tidewater has recently announced a charter deal for its platform supply vessel Troms Lyra in Norway.

According to offshore shipbrokers, the 2013 Vard-built PSV has secured a fixture for approximately 100 days with Spirit Energy. The vessel will be responsible for supply duties for the plug and abandonment jackup rig Well-Safe Protector.

In November last year, Well-Safe Solutions, on behalf of Spirit Energy and another global operator, was awarded contracts on the UK Continental Shelf. These contracts included the Well-Safe Protector jackup and Well-Safe Defender semisub, totaling 170 days of firm work with options for an additional 140 days in 2025 and 2026.

Spirit Energy has scheduled the jackup to decommission five wells on the York platform in the Southern North Sea over a period of 97 days. The firm scope was initially set to begin in the second quarter of 2025, with the option to decommission two optional subsea wells either in direct continuation or at a later date. However, sources suggest that the PSV will commence operations in mid-July.
