AS Tallink Grupp Signs Charter Agreement for Cruise Ship Romantika

AS Tallink Grupp has recently inked a charter agreement with Algeria’s state-owned company, Madar Maritime Company, for the cruise ship Romantika.

The Romantika will be chartered along with its technical crew for a period of nine months, commencing on Saturday, May 31. The agreement also includes an option to extend the charter for two additional periods of six months each.

Having previously operated in the Baltic Sea on routes to Helsinki, Stockholm, and Riga, the Romantika was built in Finland in 2002. It holds the distinction of being the first ferry commissioned by Tallink and the first built specifically for an Estonian shipping company.

In addition to the charter agreement for the Romantika, Tallink has also extended the charter for another cruise ferry, Silja Europa, in the Netherlands. The Silja Europa is currently providing accommodation services and the charter has been extended until January 31, 2026, with an option for further extensions for two additional six-month periods. Furthermore, the Galaxy, another vessel from Tallink’s fleet, is also currently under charter in the Netherlands.
