Subsea 7 Wins Contract for Shell’s Aphrodite Gas Project Offshore Trinidad and Tobago

Subsea 7 has recently announced that it has secured a contract with Shell for the Aphrodite gas project offshore Trinidad and Tobago. This project involves the transportation and installation of subsea equipment at the Aphrodite development site, which is located within Block 5a at water depths of up to 290 meters.

Project management and engineering activities for this project will commence immediately at Subsea 7’s office in Houston, Texas, with offshore operations scheduled to begin in 2027. The contract awarded to Subsea 7 is considered sizeable, with a value estimated to be between $50 million and $150 million.

Earlier in June, Shell made the final investment decision (FID) for the Aphrodite gas project, which is anticipated to produce first gas in 2027 and reach a peak production of 18,400 barrels of oil equivalent per day.
