Subsea 7 Secures Contract for Shell’s Aphrodite Gas Project in Trinidad and Tobago

Subsea 7, a leading offshore engineering and services provider, has recently been awarded a significant contract for work on Shell’s Aphrodite gas project offshore Trinidad and Tobago.

The scope of the project entails the transportation and installation of subsea equipment at the Aphrodite development site, located within Block 5a, in water depths of up to 290 meters.

Commencing immediately, project management and engineering activities will be carried out at Subsea7’s office in Houston, Texas, with offshore operations scheduled for 2027.

While specific financial details were not disclosed, the contract falls within the range of $50 million to $150 million, underscoring its substantial size and significance.

This contract award comes on the heels of Shell’s recent final investment decision for the Aphrodite project, which will see the gas production utilized to support operations at the Atlantic LNG complex.

Anticipated to commence production in 2027, the Aphrodite project is expected to achieve peak output of approximately 107 million cubic feet per day, contributing significantly to the region’s energy sector.
