Oceaneering Secures Vessel Services Contract in Gulf of Mexico

Houston-based oilfield services provider Oceaneering has announced that its offshore projects group (OPG) has secured a vessel services contract with a major operator in the Gulf of Mexico. The identity of the operator has not been disclosed.

The contract involves deploying the US-flagged 2013-built multipurpose vessel (MPSV) Harvey Deep Sea for subsea inspection, maintenance, and repair (IMR) as well as installation services in the region. The vessel is equipped with two remotely operated vehicles and is currently chartered by Oceaneering through February 2027.

While the financial terms of the contract have not been revealed, OPG’s senior vice president, Chris Dyer, highlighted that the award not only secures vessel backlog in the Gulf of Mexico but also allows the company to optimize its equipment spreads and reduce scheduling uncertainty.
