TechnipFMC and Petrobras Collaborate on New Electric Actuation Technology

TechnipFMC and Petrobras have announced a partnership to test and monitor a cutting-edge electric actuation technology that will soon be added to TechnipFMC’s eSolutions portfolio of electrical subsea systems.

The new technology is slated to be integrated into a subsea tree, with installation planned for 2026. It represents a collaboration between the two companies to push the boundaries of subsea innovation and drive advancements in subsea electrification.

By embarking on this pilot project, TechnipFMC and Petrobras are showcasing their dedication to advancing subsea field electrification. The project aims to expedite the development of subsea electrification technology, paving the way for an all-electric field in the future.

This latest electric actuation innovation builds upon TechnipFMC’s extensive experience in electric subsea systems, with over 20 years of successful deployments and more than 30 million hours of runtime for its eSolutions systems.

According to TechnipFMC, the new addition to the eSolution family offers the flexibility to electrify subsea trees at various stages, whether during manufacturing, throughout the field’s lifecycle, or during refurbishment processes.
