GTT Receives Order for LNG Carrier Tank Design

GTT, a leading engineering company in the maritime industry, has recently announced that it has secured an order from HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering (HD KSOE) for the tank design of a new Liquefied Natural Gas Carrier (LNGC). This marks another milestone in GTT’s commitment to providing innovative solutions for the transportation of LNG.

The LNGC will be constructed by Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries on behalf of Purus, a renowned ship-owner specializing in low-carbon maritime transport solutions. The vessel will feature state-of-the-art technology and design to ensure efficient and safe LNG transportation.

As part of the order, GTT will be responsible for designing the vessel’s cryogenic tanks, which will have a total capacity of 180,000 m³. These tanks will be equipped with GTT’s renowned Mark III Flex membrane containment system, known for its reliability and performance in LNG storage and transportation.

The delivery of the LNG carrier is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2027, showcasing the long-term commitment of all parties involved in the project. With a focus on sustainability and cutting-edge technology, this vessel is set to become a key player in the global LNG transportation market.

Overall, GTT’s collaboration with HD KSOE and Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries underscores the company’s expertise and leadership in LNG tank design and engineering. By delivering innovative solutions that meet the highest industry standards, GTT continues to shape the future of LNG transportation and contribute to a more sustainable maritime industry.
