JERA’s U.S. LNG Supply Deal Sets Stage for Japan Energy Summit & Exhibition 2025

Excitement is brewing in the global energy community as Japan’s largest power utility, JERA, secures a groundbreaking agreement for up to 5.5 million tonnes of U.S. LNG annually over the next 20 years. This significant development paves the way for the upcoming Japan Energy Summit & Exhibition 2025, scheduled to take place from 18th to 20th June at Tokyo Big Sight.

Key Highlights of the Event

  • The Strategic Summit will feature top executives from Shell, TotalEnergies, and Linde, alongside government leaders, addressing global energy stability, LNG diversification, and clean fuel investments.
  • Over 100 exhibitors and sponsors will participate, with high-level sessions including the LNG Producer-Consumer Conference and Climatetech Theatre.

Opening Ceremony and Live Commentary

During the Opening Ceremony on 18th June at 10:00, JERA’s Global CEO and Chair, Mr. Yukio Kani, along with representatives from Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), will provide live commentary on the significance of JERA’s long-term LNG supply agreements and the crucial role of LNG in Japan’s energy resilience.

Co-Located Events and Exhibitors

The 14th LNG Producer-Consumer Conference, co-hosted by METI and the International Energy Agency (IEA), will be held concurrently with the Japan Energy Summit & Exhibition, emphasizing the event’s growing influence as a market-shaping platform. Major industry players such as JERA, Tokyo Gas, Chevron, and TotalEnergies will showcase their solutions on the exhibition floor, spanning LNG, ammonia, hydrogen, AI-driven optimization, renewables, and next-generation infrastructure.

Strategic Summit and Speaker Line-Up

The Strategic Summit will feature esteemed speakers including Wael Sawan, CEO of Shell; Sanjiv Lamba, CEO of Linde; and Patrick Pouyanné, Chairman and CEO of TotalEnergies. Discussions will focus on energy diversification, LNG certification, decarbonization, and the role of clean fuels in industrial growth.

Climatetech Theatre and Side Events

The Climatetech Theatre will host daily sessions, including a panel on fusion energy innovation and the Energy Innovators Challenge. Side events like the Women in Energy Networking Reception and Future Leaders Breakfast will complement the program, providing additional networking opportunities.

Conclusion

As Japan’s energy landscape undergoes significant changes with the Seventh Strategic Energy Plan and evolving international LNG dynamics, the Japan Energy Summit & Exhibition 2025 emerges as a pivotal platform for engaging with industry leaders, fostering partnerships, and shaping the future of energy.
