Swedish boatbuilder Nimbus has appointed Morgan Marine as its official UK dealer, as the Essex-based firm expands its new boat portfolio with a range of Scandinavian-designed models.

The dealership, based in Brightlingsea, will now offer Nimbus’s full line-up, including the T11, C11 and Weekender series.

Morgan Marine says Nimbus models are suited to a range of cruising conditions, including those found in British waters.

Nimbus Group recently confirmed the appointment of Johan Inden as the new chief executive officer, effective September 2025.

A challenging 2024 saw the boatbuilder confirm a pivot to premium models, such as the Nimbus 495, which enjoyed a global launch at the Cannes Yachting Festival.

This new UK dealer partnership adds to Morgan Marine’s current offering, which includes Jeanneau and Highfield brands.

“We’re delighted to welcome Nimbus Boats to Morgan Marine,” says company director Graham Miller. “Nimbus represents the kind of quality, comfort and innovation that today’s boat owners are looking for. With our in-house expertise and dedicated after-sales support, we’re proud to offer a seamless ownership experience for Nimbus customers across the UK.”

As an authorised UK dealer, Morgan Marine provides new boat buyers with access to expert advice, sea trials and bespoke packages. The company also offers commissioning, servicing and general marine workshop services.

A major structural change for Nimbus last year involved discontinuing small boat production in Finland. The decision, resulting in one-off costs and restructuring expenses of SEK 55m (£4.29m), followed a previous surge and subsequent fall in demand for small boats. Production of these models, including Bella and smaller Flipper boats, has been divested to Cremo Boats. The group also began local production of the Nimbus T8 in the US to reduce logistics costs and adapt to market conditions.
