The Launch of NeedleFish USV by Ocean Infinity for Kuwaiti Coast Guard

U.S. marine robotics company Ocean Infinity has unveiled its latest innovation, the NeedleFish uncrewed surface vessel (USV), designed specifically for the Kuwaiti Coast Guard (KCG).

The NeedleFish USV is a key component of Kuwait’s new national integrated maritime surveillance system, which is being implemented by SRT Marine Systems. Equipped with a range of specialized maritime surveillance sensor systems, the NeedleFish leverages Ocean Infinity’s cutting-edge software, advanced robotics, and marine intelligence technology.

With this new technology, the KCG will have access to a state-of-the-art unmanned patrol, surveillance, mapping, and surveying capability for monitoring their extensive 11,000 km2 of territorial waters. The operations of the NeedleFish USV will be controlled from the KCG’s newly constructed onshore Command Centers, fully integrated within the SRT C5iSR maritime surveillance system.

CEO of Ocean Infinity, Oliver Plunkett, expressed his enthusiasm for the rollout of the NeedleFish USV, stating, “This program represents a significant milestone for Ocean Infinity as we leverage our extensive operational experience and proven technology to support clients in new and challenging markets. Our capabilities are more relevant than ever in today’s complex maritime environment.”
