Norwegian Shipbuilder Vard Completes Upgrades on Island Offshore’s Well Intervention Vessel

Norwegian shipbuilder Vard has successfully completed the upgrades on Island Offshore’s well intervention vessel, Island Wellsaver. The extensive upgrade and maintenance project involved various improvements to enhance the vessel’s capabilities.

The project included the replacement of the remotely operated vehicle (ROV) system, installation of winch systems, and general maintenance work to ensure the vessel is in optimal condition for its operations. Despite the complexity of the upgrades, Vard completed the project on time, minimizing downtime for Island Offshore.

About Island Wellsaver

The Island Wellsaver is a well intervention vessel that was built in 2008. It is a multi-purpose offshore vessel of UT 767 CD design, registered under the Norwegian flag, and classified by DNV-GL. The vessel measures 116 meters in length and has a breadth of 25 meters.

Island Wellsaver is specifically designed for light well intervention on existing subsea wells to stimulate, increase, or log production. The vessel is equipped with a toolbox that is lowered to the seabed to connect to the well, allowing for efficient operations.

With the completion of the upgrades by Vard, Island Offshore can now continue to utilize the Island Wellsaver for its well intervention activities with enhanced efficiency and performance.

Overall, the successful completion of the upgrade project showcases Vard’s expertise in shipbuilding and maintenance, as well as its commitment to delivering high-quality vessels to its clients. Island Offshore can now benefit from a well-equipped and reliable well intervention vessel to support its offshore operations.
