Exploring the Growing Trend of Maritime Podcasts

In recent years, there has been a surge in the number of maritime podcasts available, offering valuable insights and discussions on various aspects of the industry. Hosted by industry experts and enthusiasts, these podcasts have become a popular source of information and entertainment for maritime professionals and enthusiasts alike.

Chris Aversano, the host of the engaging podcast The Last Dinosaur, recently released his annual maritime podcast landscape, which revealed some interesting trends. According to Aversano, the total number of commercial shipping-focused podcasts has reached 61, with five inactive podcasts removed and 12 new ones added.

Aversano commented, “It’s a remarkable feat for a niche industry, and proof of a sector that is hungry for knowledge and conversation.” The diversity of topics covered by these podcasts is also evident, showcasing the industry’s wide range of interests and discussions.

One of the new additions to the podcast landscape is Splash Wrap, a weekly podcast that provides a fresh take on the key shipping headlines, offering listeners a quick and insightful summary of the latest industry news.
