LS Cable & System Secures Contract for Anma Offshore Wind Project in South Korea

LS Cable & System and its subsidiary LS Marine Solution have won a contract for the supply and installation of cables for the 532 MW Anma offshore wind project in South Korea.

According to regulatory filings on July 7, LS Cable & System clinched a contract valued at approximately ₩177 billion (around €110 million), while LS Marine Solution landed a separate deal worth about ₩94 billion (approximately €95 million).

LS Marine Solution will be tasked with laying the submarine cables that will connect the offshore wind farm to the mainland.

The two companies were chosen as the preferred bidders for the supply and installation of cables for the Anma offshore wind project in 2023.

The Anma Offshore Wind farm is situated 40 kilometers west of the South Korean peninsula’s southwestern coastline, close to Anma Island in Yeonggwang Municipality, South Jeolla Province.

HBA Future Energy has inked an agreement to construct the offshore substation for the project, as announced in October 2023.

South Korea’s government awarded the Anma offshore wind project a share of nearly 1.9 GW in offshore wind capacity alongside four other developments at the end of 2024.

Construction for the Anma offshore wind farm is scheduled to commence in 2025, with completion targeted for the first quarter of 2029.
