Bainbridge International Sells AquaMarine Brand to Boat Fenders Direct

Bainbridge International has made a strategic decision to sell its long-standing AquaMarine brand to Boat Fenders Direct as part of its corporate restructuring efforts. The move comes as Bainbridge focuses on key brands with high growth potential, such as the Ocean Rodeo brand of kite and wing foils, which they acquired at the end of 2024.

MD of Boat Fenders Direct, Gregg Witherington, expressed excitement about the acquisition, stating, “The AquaMarine brand has a rich history, and we are thrilled to be a part of its future. We have exciting plans to build on its legacy and offer complementary products to our core boat fender range.” The deal was finalized with a handshake between Witherington and Bainbridge’s Gavin Lacey.

With a proud history spanning over 60 years, AquaMarine has been known for designing and developing a wide range of marine products that are created by sailors, for sailors. The product lineup includes fenders, docklines, onboard accessories, hardware, and chandlery essentials.

Under the ownership of Boat Fenders Direct, the AquaMarine brand is expected to continue evolving while staying true to its core values. The AquaMarine domain names will transfer to the new owners, and customers can still visit the current website, www.aquamarineint.com, to register interest in a trade account as Boat Fenders Direct works on a new B2B site.

For current Bainbridge customers looking to place orders for retained brands like SeaStar/Dometic, AquaFlex cables, TeamO Marine, Ocean Rodeo, and Zhik, they can visit www.bainbridgeint.com and log in using their existing credentials. The Bainbridge team remains available to assist customers with their needs.

Chairman of Bainbridge, Laurence Mead, expressed pride in AquaMarine’s contribution to the leisure marine market and voiced confidence in Boat Fenders Direct’s ability to build on its success. Bainbridge continues to focus on providing trade customers with access to high-quality marine equipment through their central platform.
