Wave energy developer Eco Wave Power appoints Hilary E. Ackermann to its Board of Directors

Eco Wave Power, a leading wave energy developer, has announced the election of Hilary E. Ackermann to its Board of Directors. The decision was made following approval at the company’s annual general meeting. Ackermann, who previously served on Eco Wave Power’s Advisory Board, brings a wealth of expertise in energy sustainability, corporate governance, and risk management to her new role.

This appointment comes at a crucial time for the company as it gears up for the official opening of its first U.S. wave energy project at the Port of Los Angeles. This project, developed in collaboration with Shell and AltaSea, marks a significant milestone for Eco Wave Power as it expands its presence in the renewable energy sector.

“We are delighted to welcome Hilary to our Board of Directors,” said Inna Braverman, CEO of Eco Wave Power. “Her extensive experience in clean energy oversight, risk strategy, and governance will be invaluable as we continue to grow and integrate wave energy into the global renewable power mix.”

Ackermann currently serves as a board member of Vistra Energy, where she chairs the Sustainability and Risk Committee and sits on the Generation and Safety Oversight Committee. Her impressive career includes senior positions at Goldman Sachs and Swiss Bank Corporation (now UBS). She has also held board roles at Dynegy, Apollo Investment Corporation, Credit Suisse Holdings (USA), and several Hartford investment funds.

“I am thrilled to join Eco Wave Power’s Board of Directors and contribute to the company’s mission of delivering scalable, cost-efficient wave energy solutions,” said Ackermann. “Eco Wave Power’s innovative technology and expanding project pipeline present a compelling model for renewable energy innovation, and I am excited to support its strategic growth and governance.”

The Port of LA project represents Eco Wave Power’s first commercial system in the U.S. and is a significant step in its global expansion strategy. The company recently completed production of all floaters for this project, with deployment at the Port of Los Angeles scheduled to commence later this month.
