Marine navigation technology firm Savvy Navvy has partnered with the RNLI to enhance water safety in the UK and Ireland. The collaboration, launched on World Drowning Prevention Day, aims to prevent incidents at sea.

Savvy Navvy will donate a portion of its app subscription proceeds to the RNLI, supporting the charity’s operations. The app offers route planning, weather updates, and tide data for leisure marine users. In addition, RNLI safety messaging will be integrated into the app, including alerts for high-risk areas.

The company has expanded its team and leadership, with Misha Vysokovskiy appointed as Chief Product Officer. Founder and CEO Jelte Liebrand expressed pride in supporting the RNLI’s mission and emphasized the importance of preparation in water safety.

In 2024, RNLI lifeboat crews assisted over 8,200 individuals through 9,100 launches. RNLI CEO Peter Sparkes highlighted the value of delivering water safety information to seafarers and praised the collaboration with Savvy Navvy for providing comprehensive resources for trip planning and safety.
