Bourbon Secures Five-Year Charter Agreement with Eni Congo for Next-Generation Crewboats

French offshore vessel services firm Bourbon has recently announced a significant milestone with the signing of a five-year charter agreement with Eni Congo. This agreement involves the deployment of six next-generation crewboats to support operations on Eni’s offshore fields in the Central African country.

The charter agreement includes the deployment of six newly built S200X-G2 crewboats, which are scheduled for delivery between June and December 2026. In the interim period before the delivery of these new vessels, Bourbon will mobilize six existing vessels to ensure operational continuity for Eni Congo.

Designed to meet Eni’s operational and environmental requirements, the 20-meter S200X-G2 crewboats offer significant fuel savings of up to 20% compared to earlier models. Bourbon attributes these efficiency gains to enhanced hydrodynamic design, an optimized propulsion system, and real-time energy performance monitoring systems integrated during construction.

These new crewboats will play a crucial role in supporting personnel transport to Eni’s offshore fields and its two Floating Natural Gas (FNLG) units, with local support being reinforced by Bourbon Congo. Each vessel will accommodate 30 passengers and feature 25 m2 of foredeck cargo space. The navigation bridge has also been redesigned for enhanced visibility and pilot comfort.

François Leslé, CEO of Bourbon Mobility, expressed his confidence in the strategic contract, stating, “This strategic contract confirms our ability to provide innovative and responsible marine solutions tailored to the needs of major clients like Eni.”
