Stena Drilling Secures New Contracts for Its Rigs

In its latest fleet status report, Stena Drilling has announced the acquisition of several new contracts for its rigs, marking a positive development for the company.

Stena IceMAX Drillship

The 2012-built Stena IceMAX drillship has successfully secured a four-well firm campaign in Egypt, scheduled to commence in February 2026. The operator for this project has not been disclosed, but the estimated duration of the campaign is approximately 190 days. There are also extension options available for the unit with the same operator beyond the initial scope.

Stena Don Semi-Submersible Rig

Additionally, the 2001-built semi-submersible rig Stena Don has secured a four-well firm programme with an undisclosed operator in the UK, also starting in February 2026. The campaign is expected to last around ten months, with the potential for four six-month extensions thereafter. If all options are exercised, Stena Don will remain employed until the end of 2028.

Other Contracts

The Stena Carron continues its work with ExxonMobil, with firm commitments in place throughout 2026 and additional extension options. Similarly, the Stena DrillMAX has secured firm commitments for the remainder of 2025, with the possibility of extensions beyond that period.
