Seatrium Limited Signs LOI with Karpowership for Integration of New Generation Powerships

Seatrium Limited recently announced the signing of a Letter of Intent (LOI) with Karpowership, a prominent global energy company known for its ownership, operation, and construction of the world’s largest Powership fleet.

As per the LOI, Seatrium will be responsible for integrating four New Generation Powerships, with an option for two additional units. The integration work will commence in the first quarter of 2027 at Seatrium Singapore, where Karpowership will deliver the hulls and essential equipment for the Powerships. Seatrium’s scope of work includes mechanical and electrical integration, equipment integration, mechanical completion, and pre-commissioning tasks.

Additionally, the agreement includes the conversion, life extension, and repairs of three LNG carriers into Floating Storage and Regasification Units (FSRUs). This conversion process will involve installing regasification modules, spread-mooring systems, and integrating critical supporting systems such as cargo handling, offloading, utility, electrical, and automation systems.
