Seacontractors Revealed as Buyer of DOF Anchor Handler Pair

Just over a month after DOF announced the sale of an anchor handler pair to an undisclosed company, the name of the buyer has come to light.

The Danish arm of Norwegian offshore vessel owner DOF said last month that it signed agreements to sell the 2009-built Skandi Tender and the 2008-built Skandi Trader to what it described as an “international buyer”.

Both vessels became part of the DOF fleet after the company acquired Maersk Supply Service in July 2024.

On Thursday, Netherlands-based maritime service provider Seacontractors said that it added the two DOF anchor handlers to its fleet.

The Skandi Tender and Skandi Trader will be renamed Sea Banckert and Sea Evertsen and will be reflagged under the Dutch flag, with delivery expected to take place in September 2025.

According to the company, the buy furthers its growth strategy and reflects its sharpened focus on larger tonnage ranging from 70 to 200 tonne bollard pull vessels.

The Dutch firm recently added the Sea Seraya and Sea Sentosa, both with 120 tonnes of bollard pull.

With the addition of the two new AHTS vessels, with bollard pull capacities of up to 175 tonnes, the company will enhance its capabilities in deep-sea anchor handling, terminal towage, deep-sea and coastal towage, as well as EPCI project assistance.

“These vessels are a strategic addition that fit our ambition to handle larger and more complex projects with the flexibility and reliability Seacontractors is known for,” said Xander Schanssema, owner of Seacontractors.
