Nikkiso CE&IG to Provide LNG Regasification Equipment for New Providence Gas Project
The Nikkiso Clean Energy & Industrial Gases Group (Nikkiso CE&IG), a subsidiary of Japan’s Nikkiso, has been awarded a contract by New Providence Gas (NPG) to supply liquefied natural gas (LNG) regasification and cryogenic equipment for an LNG-to-power project in Nassau, the Bahamas.
Under the agreement, Nikkiso will deliver regasification systems and engineering services for the New Providence Gas project. The LNG receiving terminal at Clifton Pier will facilitate additional power generation by converting to lower-carbon infrastructure with LNG, replacing the use of diesel in gas turbines.
The scope of work includes manufacturing and supplying an LNG packaged regasification system comprising high-pressure submerged centrifugal pumps, gas-fired water bath vaporizer, power distribution and control systems, insulated pipeline with vacuum jacketed system, and other critical ancillary equipment.
Adrian Ridge, President and CEO of Nikkiso CE&IG Group, expressed the company’s commitment to providing reliable LNG-to-power solutions for customers in remote locations. He stated, “Our track record demonstrates our ability to deliver and install critical equipment efficiently for projects like this, supporting the expansion of lower-carbon power generation.”
In addition to supplying equipment, Nikkiso will offer engineering services for the project. The regasification system, with a capacity of 55 million standard cubic feet per day, features a modular design to streamline system integration and reduce costs. The construction of the terminal will be carried out in phases to ensure efficient implementation.
