ADNOC Trading Signs LNG Supply Agreement with Thailand’s Gulf LNG

ADNOC Trading, a subsidiary of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), has inked a significant liquefied natural gas (LNG) trading supply deal with Gulf LNG in Thailand. The agreement, sourced from ADNOC Gas, marks a pivotal moment as it signifies the first direct LNG shipment from ADNOC Trading to Thailand. This move solidifies ADNOC’s energy partnerships in Southeast Asia and underscores its commitment to being a trustworthy global energy provider.

As part of a partnership with the state-owned PTT, Gulf LNG holds the development rights for Phase 3 of the Map Ta Phut industrial port project in Thailand’s Rayong province. The company has been authorized to construct and operate an LNG terminal with an annual capacity of up to 10.8 million metric tonnes as part of this project.

On a related note, ADNOC recently finalized the third sales and purchase agreement (SPA) for its lower-carbon Ruwais LNG project with EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg (EnBW). This follows the initial agreements signed with SEFE Marketing and Trading, as well as Petronas.

In a strategic move, ADNOC’s investment arm XRG collaborated with BP to establish Arcius Energy, a regional gas platform. The focus of this partnership will be on the development of gas assets in Egypt, showcasing ADNOC’s continuous efforts to expand its presence in the energy sector.
