TGS Secures Four 4D Seismic Streamer Contracts in Norway

Norwegian seismic specialist TGS has recently announced the acquisition of four 4D streamer contract projects, further solidifying its presence in the offshore exploration sector. The projects are divided between the North Sea and the Barents Sea, showcasing the company’s commitment to delivering high-quality data in key exploration regions.

North Sea Projects

Three of the 4D streamer contracts are set to take place in the North Sea, with operations scheduled to commence in the early second quarter of 2025. The projects will run consecutively, spanning a total duration of approximately 130 days. This strategic move highlights TGS’s dedication to meeting the growing demand for advanced seismic imaging technology in the region.

Barents Sea Contract

Additionally, TGS has secured a 4D streamer contract in the Barents Sea, slated to kick off in late May and last for approximately 50 days. The company’s GeoStreamer technology, combined with the innovative Ramform acquisition platform, ensures efficient data delivery and superior imaging capabilities in challenging offshore environments.

CEO of TGS, Kristian Johansen, expressed his satisfaction with the recent contract acquisitions, stating, “We are very pleased to secure a series of 4D streamer contracts offshore Norway for the 2025 summer season. Our GeoStreamer technology combined with the Ramform acquisition platform ensures efficient delivery of high-quality data. We are experiencing higher demand for contract work on the Norwegian Continental shelf this year, compared to last. When including our multi-client programs, we will have three streamer vessels working on the Norwegian continental shelf this summer.”
