Maritime cybersecurity firm Cydome has announced the addition of an Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) solution to its suite of maritime protective measures.

This latest development aims to provide comprehensive cybersecurity for maritime assets, addressing the increasing cyber threats to vessels and shipping companies.

The EDR solution strengthens IT and operational technology (OT) protection and network security with endpoint-level defence, the company stated.

The new platform is designed to offer security monitoring and response capabilities for assets on ships, offshore facilities, and onshore locations.

The integration of the new solution into the Cydome security and risk management dashboard, known as the Cydome SIEM, enables a unified approach to managing cybersecurity risks.

Cydome research and development (R&D) vice president Alon Ayalon said: “Fragmented cybersecurity solutions leave shipping companies vulnerable to sophisticated attacks, as limited visibility across endpoints and networks onboard vessels hinders effective threat detection and response.

“This lack of integration not only increases the risk of operational downtime but also exposes critical systems to breaches that can compromise cargo, crew safety, and business reputation.

“By integrating a full EDR solution as part of our Cydome platform, we were able to provide a central, unified dashboard to manage all cyber protection and risk management and improve detection accuracy.”

By combining EDR with Network Detection and Response (NDR) and vulnerability scanning, organisations can now achieve “holistic defence with end-to-end visibility”, “rapid threat detection”, and “proactive risk mitigation”.

Cydome’s EDR solution provides users with visibility and protection against “security threats, internal activities, and unpatched risks”.

Furthermore, anomaly detection, which utilises data from all protection layers, leads to more “accurate” threat detection and “faster” response times simplifying risk management and cyber operations for maritime companies, according to the company.
