Danica Crewing Specialists is excited to announce the establishment of its in-person presence in Athens, marking a significant step in strengthening its representation in Greece.

Leading crewing expert Dimitris Liolios has assumed the role of Danica’s representative in Athens, offering direct support to Greek ship owners.

With a wealth of experience in the recruitment and management of seafarers, Dimitris serves as the Director and Partner of Danica’s manning office in the Philippines. His extensive background in the shipping industry spans over 30 years, encompassing roles in commercial shipping and marine HR. A seasoned professional with an MBA from Henley Business School, Dimitris brings a deep understanding of ship and crew management to his new position.

Greece, known for its prominence in the shipping sector, presents a significant demand for skilled seafarers. Danica recognizes the importance of the Greek market and remains dedicated to serving its clients in the region.

Henrik Jensen, CEO of Danica Crewing Specialists, expressed his enthusiasm for Dimitris’s appointment, stating, “I am pleased to welcome Dimitris Liolios to our team. His presence in Athens underscores Danica’s commitment to Greek ship owners, bridging the gap between them and our network of offices in seafaring hubs worldwide.”

As part of its expansion strategy, Danica is enhancing its presence in key seafarer hubs while leveraging technology to optimize its recruitment processes. Jensen highlighted the company’s focus on innovation, stating, “Our cutting-edge digital solutions, including AI technology, are revolutionizing the recruitment process, making it more efficient and user-friendly for seafarers.”

One of Danica’s recent advancements includes delivering job vacancies directly to the WhatsApp accounts of over 65,000 seafarers in its database. Jensen explained, “This approach allows us to swiftly identify potential candidates, enabling us to fill our clients’ vacancies promptly and provide a wider pool of talent.”
