Soiltech Secures Major Contracts in Romania and Norway

Norway-based cleantech service provider Soiltech has recently made significant strides in the energy sector with the acquisition of two major contracts in Romania and Norway.

Neptun Deep Project in Romania

Soiltech has secured a contract with Southeastern Europe’s integrated energy player OMV Petrom for the Neptun Deep project in the Romanian Black Sea. The contract, valued at $10 million, is set to last for five years with an initial 18-month duration. Soiltech will be providing cuttings containment, transfer equipment, and related services for what is said to be the largest natural gas project in the region. The services will be carried out on the drilling rig Transocean Barents.

“We are proud to be selected by OMV Petrom for the Neptun Deep project, which we see as a recognition of our commitment to delivering safe, sustainable, and cost-effective solutions,” said Jan Erik Tveteraas, CEO of Soiltech.

Grane Field Project in Norway

In addition to the Neptun Deep project, Soiltech has also received a call-off order from Norwegian state-owned Equinor to provide drilling waste management services on the Grane field in Norway. The services, expected to start in the first quarter of 2025, cover offshore provision of solid waste handling. The frame agreement with Equinor extends until June 2026, with potential option periods that could stretch to 2034. The contract has an estimated value above NOK 20 million ($1.8 million) over 12 months.

Previous Success with Equinor

Last year, Soiltech also won contracts with Equinor for the treatment of contaminated water on the floating storage unit Njord Bravo and solid waste management on the Statfjord B platform.
