Icon Offshore Rebrands as Lianson Fleet Group for Fleet Expansion

Icon Offshore, a Malaysian OSV owner, has recently received approval from its shareholders to undergo a name change to Lianson Fleet Group (LFG) as part of its strategic plan for significant fleet expansion.

Last year, the publicly listed company, known for its fleet of around 20 OSVs, finalized an agreement to acquire an additional 40 vessels. The majority of these vessels will be sourced from Yinson’s founder and chairman, Lim Han Weng, and Liannex Corp, with the remaining vessels coming from Yinson’s affiliated businesses.

The transaction, which has also been greenlit, is anticipated to be finalized by early February this year.

According to a statement released by the company, this move signifies a major milestone for LFG, aligning with its long-term objectives to bolster its asset base and enhance its capabilities in offshore marine, energy, and transportation services. The proposed name change to LFG reflects the company’s commitment to strengthening its market presence to better align with its expanded business operations.

The company emphasized, “The group aims to reinforce its brand recognition and solidify its position as a leading player in the dynamic offshore marine, energy, and transportation services sector.”
