Italian design company Optima Design has redesigned the Amer F 106 and 96 Sanremo motor yachts. The redesigns also include the launch of the Amer 126 model, a 38.4-metre replacement for the former Amer 120 model.

This partnership between Optima Design and the Amerio family (founders of the boat brand) began four years ago with the development of a steel and aluminium yacht line spanning from 40 to 74 metres. As part of this collaboration, a 70-metre and a 50-metre yacht are currently under construction. Italian design house, Optima Design, has redesigned the new F 106 model, F 126 model, the 96 Sanremo model and a full-aluminium L 146 model.

Antonio Luxardo is chief designer at Optima Design and was recently appointed as new chief designer for Italian shipyard Cantieri di Pisa. He says of the collaboration with Amer: “We follow the whole process from the blank sheet to delivery, we have a team of technicians that we move to the shipyard to develop and execute the project according to the needs of production and the customer.

“We started working with the Amerio family four years ago for the new Amer steel line, and now our collaboration has also extended to their fibreglass Amer Yachts line we have redesigned the new F 106, F 126 and the 96 Sanremo, and a full aluminium L 146.”

The Amer F 106 and F 126 features Volvo Penta IPS. The first of the redesigned models is the Amer F 106 yacht, which is already under construction and slated for delivery in 2026.

“The biggest [design] challenge was to give continuity to the Amer style, which had evolved over the years into different products, [but] at the same time to consolidate a new language, which must anticipate market trends and have a strong identity and recognisability,” explains Luxardo. “I wanted to put the product back at the centre of the evolutionary process of the shipyard, which has made enormous progress thanks to the teamwork that has been created.”

The Amer F 106 yacht maintains the design characteristics of the shipyard’s recent models, featuring a full-beam width similar to the former Amer 120. This design adjustment allows for a larger saloon space. Externally, the yacht sports large-height windows at the saloon entrance, providing expansive views of the surrounding environment.

The Amer 96 Sanremo is a sporty design, with a fibreglass hull and aluminium superstructure, four cabins and a saloon on the main deck, large foredeck area and a generous sun deck.

Luxardo says the experience of working with the Amerio family has been very important to the whole process. “The founder, Ferdinando Amerio, is very attentive to the sea, respects the sea, and his level of attention to detail has transferred to his children [who work in the business] and all his collaborators. This translates into many small details that create unique boats,” he adds.

the title: “The Benefits of Mindfulness Meditation for Mental Health”

In recent years, mindfulness meditation has gained popularity as a powerful tool for improving mental health. This ancient practice, rooted in Buddhist traditions, involves focusing on the present moment and cultivating a non-judgmental awareness of one’s thoughts, feelings, and sensations. Research has shown that regular mindfulness meditation can have a number of positive effects on mental well-being.

One of the key benefits of mindfulness meditation is its ability to reduce stress and anxiety. By learning to observe their thoughts without getting caught up in them, individuals can develop a sense of calm and detachment from stressful situations. This can help to lower levels of the stress hormone cortisol and decrease symptoms of anxiety disorders.

Mindfulness meditation has also been found to improve mood and increase feelings of happiness. By training the mind to focus on the present moment, individuals can learn to let go of negative thoughts and emotions that may be contributing to feelings of sadness or depression. This can lead to a greater sense of overall well-being and contentment.

Additionally, mindfulness meditation can enhance cognitive function and improve concentration. By practicing mindfulness, individuals can strengthen their ability to focus and pay attention, which can be particularly beneficial for those with attention deficit disorders or other cognitive challenges. This increased focus can also lead to greater productivity and efficiency in daily tasks.

Furthermore, mindfulness meditation has been shown to promote self-awareness and self-compassion. By becoming more attuned to their thoughts and emotions, individuals can gain a deeper understanding of themselves and their inner workings. This can lead to greater self-acceptance and a more positive relationship with oneself, which is crucial for overall mental health.

In conclusion, mindfulness meditation offers a wide range of benefits for mental health. By practicing mindfulness regularly, individuals can reduce stress and anxiety, improve mood and happiness, enhance cognitive function, and cultivate self-awareness and self-compassion. Whether you are new to meditation or a seasoned practitioner, incorporating mindfulness into your daily routine can have a profound impact on your mental well-being.
