DeepOcean Secures Subsea Survey Contract for Bałtyk 2 and 3 Offshore Wind Farms

Norwegian ocean services contractor DeepOcean has been awarded a subsea survey contract for the Bałtyk 2 and 3 offshore wind developments in Poland. These wind farms, jointly developed by Equinor and Polenergia, will have a total combined capacity of 1.44 GW.

As part of the undisclosed contract, DeepOcean will conduct geophysical seabed surveys of the export and inter-array cable seabed corridors using a dedicated survey remotely operated vehicle (SROV) aboard its flagship survey vessel, Edda Flora.

The scope of work also includes surveys to identify potential unexploded ordnance (UXO) on the seabed. MEWO, a Polish surveyor, will assist as a subcontractor for UXO surveys using the vessel, Amber Cecilia.

The Bałtyk 2 and 3 offshore wind projects, a collaboration between Equinor and Polenergia, will have a total capacity of 1.44 GW. The survey operations are scheduled to take place in early 2025.
