Alfa Laval Acquires NRG Marine: Enhancing Anti-Fouling Solutions Across Industries

Swedish marine technology company Alfa Laval has recently announced its agreement to acquire NRG Marine, a UK-based provider of ultrasonic anti-fouling solutions for marine, oil and gas, and industrial applications.

The acquisition, set to be finalized in the second quarter of 2025, marks a strategic move by Alfa Laval to capitalize on the growing demand for ultrasonic anti-fouling technology in various industries.

Ultrasonic anti-fouling technology offers several advantages over traditional methods, making it a sustainable and environmentally friendly solution that aligns with future regulatory requirements.

NRG Marine’s innovative technology utilizes ultrasonic microscopic bubbles to disrupt fouling and prevent the formation of new deposits on critical components. This approach has proven effective in reducing biofouling, scaling, sludge, and other deposits, leading to improved operational efficiency and environmental benefits.

The partnership with Alfa Laval’s global network will enhance market scalability and accessibility for their innovative solution.
