Seamec Secures Long-Term Charter for Dive Support Vessel

Indian offshore vessel operator Seamec has recently announced the acquisition of a long-term charter for the dive support vessel Seamec Swordfish from Saudi-based Safeen Al Behar. The deal, valued at $57.4 million, spans 730 days and includes extension options.

The 2007-built DSV will be deployed in Saudi and UAE waters starting from March under the terms of the charter agreement. Previously known as Subtech Swordfish, the vessel was purchased by Mumbai-based Seamec from UK marine service provider James Fisher and Sons for $24 million in 2022. It has a history of operations in the Middle East with contractors Zamil Offshore and Mermaid Subsea Services.
