Norway’s Boa to Build Semi-Submersible Heavy Lift Barges

Norwegian company Boa has recently inked a deal with Dalian Shipbuilding Offshore Co. for the construction of up to two
semi-submersible heavy lift barges.

The Boabarge 39, an in-house design introduced in November 2023, is scheduled for delivery in the third quarter of
2026. Boa has also secured an option for an additional newbuild.

Measuring 166 meters in length, the vessel is designed to support various operations in multiple industries, including load-out
and float-off operations, heavy-load transportation, drydocking, salvage operations, and decommissioning projects.

According to Boa, “This milestone marks a significant step forward in Boa’s commitment to expanding our fleet to meet future
market requirements.”
