Lloyd’s Register Grants Approval in Principle to TideWise for Innovative Uncrewed Surface Vessel

Lloyd’s Register (LR) has recently awarded Approval in Principle (AiP) to TideWise, a Brazilian company, for their cutting-edge 24-metre uncrewed surface vessel (USV) designed specifically for offshore subsea inspection operations. This innovative vessel is capable of operating at depths of up to 2,500 meters, making it a game-changer in the industry.

The USV, with an impressive endurance of 35 days and dynamic positioning 2 (DP2) capability, has the capacity to deploy a work-class electric Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) at depths of up to 2,500 meters. Its versatile functionality allows for the completion of multiple tasks, presenting opportunities to streamline workflows, decrease operational downtime, lower costs, and improve overall efficiency in offshore projects.

One of the standout features of the TideWise USV is its power source. Equipped with a hybrid diesel-electric system that can potentially transition to hydrogen in the future, the vessel significantly reduces carbon emissions, aligning with the growing demand for sustainable solutions in offshore operations. This commitment to environmental responsibility sets TideWise apart as an industry leader in eco-friendly maritime technology.

Overall, the Approval in Principle granted by Lloyd’s Register underscores the innovative design and advanced capabilities of TideWise’s uncrewed surface vessel. With a focus on efficiency, sustainability, and cutting-edge technology, TideWise is poised to revolutionize offshore subsea inspection operations and set new standards for the industry.
