First Marine Solutions Acquires Andrews Hydrographics Ltd

First Marine Solutions (FMS) has recently announced the acquisition of Aberdeen-based Andrews Hydrographics Ltd (Andrews Survey). This strategic move is set to double FMS’s headcount to 130 and is expected to result in a combined annual turnover of approximately £40 million.

The acquisition of Andrews Survey will bring greater depth and capability to FMS’s existing Survey & Positioning business unit. According to FMS Managing Director, Steven Brown, “Our Survey & Positioning business has experienced significant growth over the past five years. With the global subsea construction sector showing strong market dynamics, acquiring Andrews Survey was a logical step to enhance our service offerings. Andrews Survey is a highly experienced and well-respected company, and we are excited to further develop this service line within our rapidly growing FMS business.”

With this acquisition, FMS plans to invest in additional personnel and assets to strengthen its Survey & Positioning services. The company is committed to expanding its capabilities and meeting the evolving needs of the marine industry.
